November 2012

November was a busy month full of precious memories for us…

we worked on our new house…a lot!

Jesse learned to ride a two wheel bike!

Trey’s 4H fair project placed 1st!

We adopted a new kitten.

We learned to make cheese during our 4H meeting.

We also created Christmas cards for soldiers during 4H.

We went to the fair.  And ran into some old friends.  It was the best time!

We had fun times with our cousins and friends.

We had a great time at the Pioneer Harvest Festival.

We examined pond scum.  And learned how to make soap!

We celebrated Rigdon turning ONE!

We had TWO yummy Thanksgiving dinners with family!

And.  We got two hogs.

Wow!  What a month!

Tonight we attended the 2nd annual McRae Fall Festival.  This year there was a pumpkin carving contest.  And.  Trey INSISTED that we carve a pumpkin.  Now I am NOT a pumpkin carving guru.  And.  Hubby was busy working on our new home.  So Trey was mostly on his own.  And.  He did a great job!  And.  He won!  Now?  He’s already making plans to defend his title next year!

Today was Fieldtrip Fun Friday!  We visited Poppell’s Farm & Pumpkin Patch with our friends and we had a blast!

Mrs. Pumpkin and Her Eggs.  Trey’s entry into the 4H Pumpkin Decorating Contest.  Trey worked very hard on this project and Mrs. Pumpkin received the prize for Most Unusual!  I am so proud of my big boy!

Our history lesson today was on Stonehenge.  So of course the boys created their own Stonehenge.

Old Fashion Sunday is one of our favorite days at church.  The boys absolutely love going to church barefoot!  And Mommy thinks her boys are just so adorable in suspenders and straw hats!

Trey has thoroughly enjoyed participating in 4H this year and he particularly enjoys Robotics Club each Tuesday afternoon.  National 4H week is this week and to celebrate there was a special science project activity this afternoon.  Teams of three built a brainless robot from a toothbrush to clean up an oil spill.  Trey loved it and was so excited to bring his ecobot home!

What was  Daddy doing while we were playing at the beach?  Building our cabinets for our new house!!!  I am so thankful for a hubby who isn’t afraid to tackle new projects!  And isn’t my Grandma’s sink beautiful?!?

Today it’s Monday.  And we’re home from the beach.  And back to grind.  Well, not really…we couldn’t quite get in the groove today and spent the day being lazy & recovering from our trip.  While we at the beach we visited Tidelands Nature Center on Jekyll Island.  Turtles, snakes, gators, crabs, and sharks…the boys loved it!
