Instead of an egg hunt, this year the 4th grade did a scavenger hunt.  We broke into three teams and raced all over town looking for the twenty items on our list.  It included things like a plastic fork, a church bulletin, a picture of the city limits sign, etc. and we had blast getting all twenty!!!  Here is my group marking “picture of group in front of a memorial” off our list.

Can you see them?  Right there on his cheek, and trailing over his nose.  Precious freckles.  He hasn’t always had them.  But I love them now that they are here.  Tonight, this one fell asleep on my chest.  As I looked at his sleeping face, and those precious freckles, I really wished I could stop time.  I also wished that my camera was within reach so I could take a “the view from here” photo.  Later, after he’d been moved to bed, and after his Daddy and I had discussed those precious freckles, I went to work.  Capturing those freckles.  And those eyelashes.  Forever captured preciousness.

Today was Youth Sunday at Pine Level.  Every aspect of our worship service was led by our wonderful children and they did an outstanding job!  Trey did the welcome and led the offertory prayer and Jesse was an usher.  We are so proud of them!

Jesse and I like to have some silly fun while we wait on Trey to take his piano lesson.  Today, I was taking photos, when Jesse stuck his eye right up to the lens and said he wanted a picture of just his eye.  I really like the way it turned out.

Last October, Snowflake the Mama Dog, had six puppies.  One puppy died in the first couple of weeks, but the other five grew big and strong.  We gave one away at Christmas, which left us with FOUR puppies and Snowflake.  One day while Trey was feeding the pups, they got out of the pen and one disappeared never to be seen again.  Not long after, Snowflake disappeared.  Then two more of the puppies mysteriously died.  Leaving us with one pup, whom Trey aptly named.  Meet Survivor!

The boys spent another day fishing at the coast with Daddy.  And Trey brought me home this beautiful cross that he made for me out of reeds.  Isn’t he the sweetest?!?  I am one blessed Mommy.

Trey got triops (a crustacean that favors a mini horseshoe crab) for Christmas.  We hatched our first batch and have enjoyed watching them grow.  Unfortunately, the last one bit the dust sometime during the night.  Before we sent him to his watery grave, we had to examine him under the microscope!
